A man was in critical condition after being shot Friday morning in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, according to Chicago Police.

Just after midnight, the 21-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 4900 block of West Hubbard when someone in a red SUV fired shots at him, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound somewhere on his body, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
