A man was shot during an argument Friday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 3:57 p.m., the 31-year-old was shot in the chest and upper right arm in the 600 block of North Sawyer, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
