A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with a Monday afternoon shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood.
A group of people walked up to a 36-year-old man shortly after 4 p.m. and someone shot him in the left ankle, according to Chicago Police.
He was taken by paramedics to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
The group then drove off in a vehicle that later crashed into a parked vehicle near the intersection of Homan Avenue and Grenshaw Street, police said. One person was taken into custody when the group tried to run from the crash.
A gun was found in the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, police said.
