A man has died two days after being shot during a weekend drug deal in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Exavian C. Davis, 25, “was involved in a narcotics related transaction” about 2:45 p.m. Saturday when someone he knew pulled out a gun and shot him in the head in the 3900 block of West Van Buren, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:39 a.m. Monday, authorities said. He lived about two blocks from where he was shot.
