A man was critically wounded in a shooting Friday night in the South Side Gresham neighborhood.

The 23-year-old was shot in his abdomen about 7:45 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Eggleston, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
