A man was shot and seriously wounded Saturday afternoon in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

The 27-year-old was standing on a sidewalk about 2 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Michigan when an unknown male approached from behind and fired shots, striking him in the back, according to Chicago Police.

The man was driven by an acquaintance to St. Bernard Hospital and then transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
