A man was in critical condition after a shooting Saturday evening in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.

The 34-year-old was found shot in the head at 10:44 p.m. in an alley in the 8600 block of South Essex, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
