A 26-year-old man was shot early Monday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

About 12:30 a.m., the man was standing on a sidewalk in the 800 block of North Lawndale Avenue when someone walked up and fired shots, Chicago Police said.

He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left shoulder, police said.
