A man was shot Friday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 23-year-old heard gunfire and was shot in the right buttock at 12:24 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Van Buren, according to Chicago Police.

He was not being cooperative with investigators, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
