A 19-year-old man was shot early Friday in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.

About 1:30 a.m., the man was walking in the 6400 block of North Leavitt when two males fired shots from a gangway, striking the man in the right thigh, police said.

The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where his condition had stabilized.

Police added the man is a documented gang member.
