A man was shot and seriously wounded Thursday morning in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old man was shot in the head at 9:33 a.m. while driving a vehicle in the 2100 block of West 83rd Street, according to Chicago police.

He was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
