A 53-year-old man was shot Sunday evening in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

He was shot in the right hip about 6:40 p.m. in the first block of South Mayfield, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Loretto Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
