A man was shot Friday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 23-year-old was shot in the chest about 1:42 p.m. in the 5100 block of West Thomas by someone firing from a four-door, dark-colored sedan, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
