A man was shot late Tuesday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 22-year-old was standing outside at 11:22 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of North Mason when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the right foot, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
