A man was wounded in a shooting Saturday evening in the Austin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 33-year-old was walking on the sidewalk when he heard shots and felt pain about 5:10 p.m. in the 5800 block of West Division, according to Chicago police.

He was shot in his leg and was taken to West Suburban Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
