Man shot in Back of the Yards

A man was shot Friday afternoon in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The 25-year-old was in the 4800 block of South Winchester about 4:15 p.m. when someone walked up and opened fire before running away, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the abdomen and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
