A man was shot early Sunday in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.

The 26-year-old was standing outside at 12:38 a.m. on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of West 36th Street when someone in a black van fired shots, striking him in the groin area, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
