A man was shot Thursday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 26-year-old was standing outside about 7:45 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Maplewood when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
