A 42-year-old man was shot to death Friday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Curley L. Harvey was traveling east in a vehicle at 2:29 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Jackson when someone in a silver sedan pulled up and fired shots, striking him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Harvey was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:04 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
