Man shot in eye in South Shore

A 30-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

About 12:30 p.m., the man was found lying on the ground by a passing UPS employee in the 2800 block of East 77th Place, according to Chicago Police. He had been shot in his left eye.

The man was taken in critical condition to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
