Man shot in Grand Crossing

A man was wounded Thursday evening in a Grand Crossing neighborhood shooting on the South Side.

The 20-year-old was standing on a sidewalk about 7 p.m. when shots rang out in the 2500 block of East 78th Street, according to Chicago police.

He was shot in the left arm and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.

The 59-year-old was found about 7 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Chappel Avenue with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, police said.
Jonathan Vallejo, 38, of River Grove, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the Friday shooting and was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
