Man shot in North Lawndale

A man was shot late Sunday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 28-year-old was standing in a gangway about 11:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Springfield when another male walked up, pulled out a gun and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to the right thigh and left calf, police said. He later showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
