Man shot in Rogers Park

A man was shot early Thursday in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side.

The 29-year-old was standing outside about 4:45 a.m. in the 2200 block of West Rosemont when someone walked up and fired shots, striking him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken in good condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, police said.

The suspect’s son witnessed the shooting of at least five relatives, according to Joliet police reports obtained through a public records request. The reports also indicate the boy’s mother was more deeply involved in the case than first thought.
