Man shot in South Shore shows up at hospital

A man was shot Monday morning in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 19-year-old showed up at Jackson Park Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg a few minutes after 11 a.m., according to Chicago Police. His condition was stabilized.

The man told investigators he was shot in the 7800 block of South Jeffery, police said.

The suspect’s son witnessed the shooting of at least five relatives, according to Joliet police reports obtained through a public records request. The reports also indicate the boy’s mother was more deeply involved in the case than first thought.
