A 23-year-old man was shot in the Washington Heights neighborhood early Sunday on the Far South Side.

He was sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle parked in the 9700 block of South Vincennes about 3:45 a.m. when someone got out of another car on the street, walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man, shot in the thigh, drove himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
