A man was wounded in a shooting Monday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The 24-year-old was standing with a group of people just before 8 p.m. in the 4600 block of West Adams when a male approached and demanded their personal property, according to Chicago Police. The male fired shots at the group during the confrontation and ran off.

The man was struck in his right arm and took himself to Loretto Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
