A man was critically wounded in a shooting inside a Humboldt Park neighborhood club early Sunday on the West Side.

About 4:40 a.m., the 28-year-old was inside a club in the 3900 block of West Chicago when another male entered and fired shots, striking the man in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Shermain Sargent, 41, is accused of beating Timothy Ash, 74, on Jan. 7 in the 6400 block of South King Drive. Ash died Jan. 12 of injuries suffered from the assault, the medical examiner reported.
