A man was shot and seriously wounded Thursday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Just before 9 a.m., the 39-year-old was in the 1100 block of South Mason when someone approached and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was shot in the thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
