A man was shot in a drive-by shooting Thursday evening in the West Side Little Village neighborhood.

At 9:58 p.m., the 18-year-old was standing on a sidewalk in the 3200 block of South Springfield Avenue when he was struck in the chest, according to Chicago police. The shots came from another male inside a white sedan.

The 18-year-old was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
