A 36-year-old man was seriously wounded Friday evening when he was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

He was sitting in the vehicle about 10:15 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Union when people fired at him, striking him in the right shoulder, according to Chicago Police.

His injuries were considered serious, and he was being treated at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
