A man was shot Sunday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 23-year-old was walking at 2:54 p.m. in the 700 block of North Christiana when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots that struck him in his buttocks and leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
