A man shot to death late Monday in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side has been identified.

About 11 p.m., the 36-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 7400 block of North Rogers when several males approached and opened fire, police said.

Kevin Davis was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. His home address was not immediately known.

Area North detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
