A man was wounded in a shooting early Saturday on the Near West Side.

About 1:20 a.m., the 25-year-old was sitting in the passenger seat of an SUV stopped at a red light in the first block of North Oakley Boulevard when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot, Chicago Police said.

The man took himself to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, police said. His condition had stabilized.
