A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting early Wednesday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 22-year-old was in the 5400 block of West Ohio at 12:47 p.m. when a purple van drove by and a passenger fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The van took off eastbound on Ohio.

He was shot in the buttocks and left hand, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Police said the victim is a documented gang member.
