A man was shot Friday night in an Austin neighborhood attack on the West Side.

The 29-year-old was standing on a sidewalk with a group of people about 9:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Mason Avenue, Chicago Police said. Three people walked up and opened fire.

The man showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where a wound to his right shoulder was stabilized, police said.
