A 21-year-old man was shot in the East Garfield Park neighborhood early Sunday on the West Side.

He was getting into a vehicle about 3:20 a.m. in the 3300 block of West Van Buren when someone opened fire from a passing tan car, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the left thigh. A friend drove him to Rush University Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
