A man was wounded in a shooting Saturday evening in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 27-year-old was standing on the sidewalk when someone walked up and began firing shots at 5:42 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Paulina, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
