A man was shot Tuesday morning in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to alerts from a ShotSpotter gunshot detector found the 37-year-old man at 11:02 a.m. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 3700 block of West Chicago Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

The shooter was described as a male with dreadlocks who got out of a black car before firing, police said. The wounded man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
