Man wounded in Near West Side drive-by shooting

A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon on the Near West Side.

The 23-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of West Maypole at 12:34 p.m. when someone fired several shots from a vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
