A boy was charged with shooting a 34-year-old man in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood late Friday on the Northwest Side.

About 11:40 p.m., the man was outside in the 2600 block of North Central when someone opened fire from a vehicle that then sped away. He was shot in the buttocks and taken to a hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The boy was charged with felony aggravated battery discharge of a gun, police said Sunday.
