A man was shot Thursday night in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 18-year-old man was walking in the 5100 block of West West End Avenue at 8:25 p.m. when several males walked up and fired shots, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the right calf and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park where his condition stabilized, police said.
