A 34-year-old man was wounded early Monday in a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood.

About 1:50 a.m., the man was standing outside in the 7000 block of South Paxton Avenue when he was approached by three people who began shooting at him, Chicago Police said.

The man was struck in his arm, and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
