A man was shot late Tuesday on the South Side.

At 11:18 p.m., the 26-year-old was sitting on the passenger side of a vehicle in the 8700 block of South Cottage Grove when someone walked up and fired shots, striking him in the face, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
