A man was shot in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side early Saturday.

The 22-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 10100 block of South Lowe about 12:20 a.m. when a male walked up and pointed a gun at him, police said. The 22-year-old ran off and the male then shot him in the leg.
