A 33-year-old south suburban man was shot to death early Monday in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 2:30 a.m., Donald Johnson was traveling in a vehicle in the 12900 block of South Indiana Avenue when someone in a passing black Chrysler 300 opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Johnson, who lived in south suburban Sauk Village, was shot in the back, authorities said. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m.

Area South detectives were investigating.
