A 24-year-old man reported missing last week from the northern suburbs was found dead Sunday morning at the scene of an apparent motorcycle crash in Lake Villa Township.

About 11:40 a.m., a bicyclist flagged down police after spotting a motorcycle in a ditch west of Route 45 just north of Dada Drive in Lake Villa Township, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

Deputies found the driver dead at the scene, sheriff’s police said.

He was identified as Grayslake resident Seth J. Goodwin, who had last been seen March 28 and was reported missing the next day when he didn’t show up at his girlfriend’s home as planned, police said.

The sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Unit is handling the case. The Lake County coroner’s office is scheduling an autopsy.
