(BOLINGBROOK) A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Wednesday night in southwest suburban Bolingbrook that left his bike in “several pieces.”
The crash happened in the 500 block of Frontage Road a few minutes after 9 p.m., according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Michael Rompa.
A 1999 Toyota pulled into the lane where a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling, striking the bike, Rompa said.
The motorcycle “was totaled and divided into several pieces,” Rompa said.
The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was ejected from the bike, and was taken to a hospital with critical injuries, Rompa said. The injuries do not appear life-threatening.
The driver of the Toyota, a 75-year-old man, was issued a traffic citations for failure to yeild while exiting a private drive.
