A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Saturday evening crash in northwest suburban Algonquin that injured three other men.
Three motorcyclists were going north on Route 31 just north of Route 62 when they hit a raised median and went into oncoming traffic, according to Algonquin police.
One of the motorcyclists, Crystal Lake resident Alex J. Misurelli, was hit by a Honda Accord and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the McHenry County coroner’s office. The 25-year-old Palatine man driving the car was taken to a hospital.
Another motorcyclist, a 40-year-old Lake in the Hills man, was thrown from his bike, police said. He was taken to a hospital and later airlifted to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. His motorcycle was then hit by a Nissan Armada driven by a 16-year-old Crystal Lake boy, who was not hurt.
The third motorcyclist, a 34-year-old Woodstock man, was also ejected from his bike and taken to a hospital.
No citations had been issued as of Monday as police investigate.
