A west suburban motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a semi truck Wednesday morning in Aurora.

About 6:30 a.m., Johnny R. Williams riding a Suzuki southbound on Commons Drive when a semi coming from the other direction made a left turn into the post office on Gabrielle Lane. The motorcycle then hit the back wheel of the semi’s trailer, according to Aurora city spokesman Dan Ferrelli.

Williams, a 39-year-old from Naperville, was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where he died, Ferrelli said. He had been wearing a helmet.

The 49-year-old Aurora man driving the semi was ticketed for failure to yield while turning left.
