A man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon in west suburban Naperville.

Authorities were called at 12:17 p.m. about the crash at 248th Avenue and Ashwood Road, according to a statement from Naperville police. A 19-year-old man was driving a 2006 Honda CBR600RR motorcycle northbound on 248th approaching Ashwood when he lost control and the bike struck the east curb.

The driver was then thrown from the motorcycle and hit a light pole, police said. He was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville with serious injuries.
